Early Childhood

Our Playgroup, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students learn to love learning through hands-on activities and personalized lessons. They develop their character and curiosity with our teachers' support and guidance.
3 to 5 years old
Our Early Years Curriculum at Colegio Menor Samborondón
Our Early Years Program is a 100% English immersion program, so our youngest learners learn during day-to-day interactions with their teachers and classmates. Our lessons focus on play-based activities that include sensory exploration, reading and writing, math, creative expression, science, physical activities, among other areas.

Lower School

Our Lower School students have challenging lessons across different topics. They develop their critical thinking skills and consider solutions to both local and global problems.
6 to 10 years old
Our Elementary Curriculum at Colegio Menor Samborondón
Under the guidance of our teachers, each Lower School student produces their own Personal Portfolio, where they set short- and long-term goals. This structure encourages them to reflect on developing their abilities, skills, and characters. Aside from our Spanish language lessons, the remaining 80% of our instruction is in English.

Middle School

Our 6th to 9th Grade students at Colegio Menor go outside their comfort zone, as they develop unique characteristics as young adolescents. Our teachers work closely with them to build on the skills they’ve already mastered and to nurture the development of their character.

As part of our comprehensive liberal arts program, our students study English and Spanish Language Arts, Art, Music, Theatre, Science, Mathematics, Physical Education, and STEAM/Technology and Social Studies. We also practice standardized testing, including MAP Tests (Language, Reading, Math, Science and Spanish) and BADYG (Skills). Aside from our Spanish language lessons, the remaining 80% of our instruction is in English.

As part of our comprehensive liberal arts program, our students study English and Spanish Language Arts, Art, Music, Theatre, Science, Mathematics, Physical Education, and Social Studies. Students can take an exciting variety of electives, including those within the AP program; they also practice standardized testing and prepare for their college admissions. Aside from our Spanish language lessons, the other 80% is in English.

 We join the Welcome Circle to greet our friends and teachers and to share our ideas, thoughts, and feelings to begin the day. We talk about the activities we’ll work on throughout the day.
GETTING READY
TAKING THE LEAD
While we’re encouraged to make our own choices, we’re also allowed to make mistakes. Our students learn to take the lead as they feel safe in our classroom to explore outside their comfort zone.

Whether it’s math or painting, we cluster in small groups at our classroom’s learning centers, where the teacher can work closely with all of us. We work on specific skills.

We prepare for the day by greeting each other, checking our schedule, and listening to messages. We also share our experiences to bond with our peers and teachers.
