Middle School

Welcome to Middle School! We are a passionate and caring community that believes that student empowerment is the key to success. We are committed to carefully considering the unique developmental characteristics of young adolescents in order to create a learning environment that clearly demonstrates the steps to success.

Our Middle School consists of an outstanding group of professionals with strong teaching skills and a shared passion for student learning. Educators commit to embracing the diversity of the student population when teaching content and celebrate the development of future-focused skills and tools in order to develop students that are motivated, confident, and able to grow and learn independently.

We are thrilled that you are a part of our community of learners and look forward to walking alongside you as your child takes on the new and exciting challenges of Middle School.

Academic Model

A comprehensive liberal arts education is the foundation of Colegio Menor. We offer the best preparation to our Middle School students, who have the opportunity of taking outstanding classes such as English and Spanish Language Arts, Art, Music, Theater, Science, Mathematics, Physical Education,  Social Studies and a wide variety of electives.

Community Service Program

We care for our community and those in need. We have developed a close relationship with a nearby foundation for senior citizens in order to provide for their needs. Each grade in Middle School, together with the Student Government, also develops a fundraising project throughout the year with the objective of contributing for the development of this partner school.

Special Classes and Extracurriculars

As an essential piece of our Liberal Arts program, Colegio Menor offers students the opportunity of enjoying the arts, sports and technology in a different way.

Our Middle School students take mandatory classes in Art, Music, Theater, Physical Education and Technology/STEAM. As they move into High School, they select these classes as electives in order to specialize in their field of talent and exploration. We consider these classes as important as the other academic fields. For this reason, we are proud of our artistic, technological and sports programs, which excel in our community.

Counseling and Learning Support

Our counselors provide emotional and social support to students, and facilitate small group discussions regarding human sexuality, self-esteem, self-understanding, and self-control. Other topics include substance abuse, stress management, and fostering healthy and functional relationships. We also organize annual one-day retreats for each of our MS/HS grades.

The Learning Support Program offers assistance to those students who need additional help and constant feedback regarding their learning. We acknowledge that all our students learn in different ways and have different and unique abilities and skills. We provide orientation to students, teachers and families with the objective of recognizing academic strengths and applying strategies that will support them throughout the school year. We also guide parents when special diagnosis and differentiation could be needed during learning.

Our Admissions Team look forward to working with your family through every step of the Admissions Process.

Our two campuses (Quito and Samborondón) offer the best quality of Liberal Arts education, while also aiming to teach understanding, respect, and appreciation for Ecuadorian culture.
