High School

Academic Model

A comprehensive liberal arts education is the foundation in preparing for college which our students receive in High School. We believe that a liberal arts education offers the most solid foundation in the development of young minds and it offers the best preparation for post-secondary studies. Menor students receive classes in English, Spanish, art, literature, music, science, physical education, technology, and social sciences. Graduates are prepared to make intelligent decisions regarding their academic futures since they have undergone a wide range of academic experiences across diverse fields of study.

College and Career Counseling

Colegio Menor’s College Counseling Program is designed to help students and their families in the search for universities and the application process. Selecting a university is one of the most important decisions a student a can make, therefore students and families count on extensive services and consults to meet their needs.

Emotional and Social Counseling

Our counselors provide emotional and social support to students, and facilitate small group discussions regarding human sexuality, self-esteem, self-understanding, and self-control. Other topics include substance abuse, stress management, and fostering healthy and functional relationships.

Academic Support Program (PAS)

The Academic Support Program (PAS) lends assistance to those students who need additional support and constant feedback regarding their learning. All students wish to succeed academically, however, this process is not always easy. PAS is designed to provide orientation to students, teachers and family with the objective of recognizing academic strengths and weaknesses in a given student and to apply strategies that will support the student throughout his/her academic career.

Advanced Placement

For over ten years, Colegio Menor has been authorized by the College Board (United States) to offer Advanced Placement (AP) classes to 11th and 12th graders. This program is used with high schools across more than 100 countries. The AP program offers more than 30 college courses in the areas of: Computer Science, Arts, Mathematics, History and Social Sciences, Languages and Cultures, and English.

The Advanced Placement program provides the opportunity for students to earn college credits while attending high school, and provides students with efficient preparation for continuing education coursework at the university level.
